My bike is, well...loud. I personally don't mind it too much, but apparently anyone behind me doesn't appreciate it as much and with our new noise laws it HAS to be quieter.
i repacked it, but I dunno if it is missing a baffle or anything...it is straight through??
I am wondering if anyone knows if I am missing bits, also what exhaust to use and if anyone might have a cheap stocker in good shape?? any help is groovy!

2006 FE450e no mods known...... :)

Oh, and can someone help clarify the KTM/Husaberg relationship? will the KTM dealer have my parts? I need a good source for oil filters and the long? filter......parts numbers? suppliers? I am in Canada, if that makes a diff, EH? ;)

KTM dealers will be good for some common parts, oil filters etc..
I will check when I get home this evening for a can. I know I have a SM can, but that is probably not what you want.

Thanks Berger. Not sure what the diff is between the cans? Is the SM one much bigger? I just need it quiet. I went and looked at the fmf stuff but they show no listings....is my bike the same as a KTM counterpart? ie, is the exc450 the same?

The SM may be a little noisier than the FE, not sure. I know it has no spark arrestor. No your bike is not like the EXC except for some chassis items. Wheels, brakes, clutch and brake masters, bars etc..

ah, I see. well I know I do need a spark arrestor. What should I do for exhaust then? The Akro stuff is waaaay out of my league. :(

so what IS the relationship between ktm and Husaberg??

I have a new stock exhaust off my 2004 450 Where in Canada are you located

their relationship as i understand it would be like, honda/acura; toyota/lexus; chevrolet/cadilac; they are seperate entities working together for a common goal to sell bikes, if you want something nice you buy a ktm, if you want something a little more special or out of the ordinary you buy the berg. i understand ktm bought berg for their technology but kept them around as opposed to just shutting them down. ktm is the parent company and tells husaberg if they get the final go ahead with their plans. also they work together, borrow ideas, some parts interchange, some totally different, but the guy with the final say is still the same guy, ktm. of course this is i understand it, husaberg has a interesting herritage its worth the research to find out the whole story, and/or different versions of the story....

c337b, I am in SW Ontario...how much for the muffler? Sounds like what I need. :)

Thanks for clearing the relationship up, it is much more clear now. :bounce3:
