stiff clutch

The clutch lever on my '94 fc600 is hella tight, after a ride my left hand feels like I've been sqeeze gripp'n all day. The cable is fine, I thought I read a post about using springs or other clutch parts off a 501 :?:

On my 98 fe600 I added 2mm steel spacer between the clutch pushrod and pressure sleeve. Fitted inside the pressure sleeve. That made my clutch arm move from circa 60 degree to 90 degree position.

I'm guessing that my clutch arm is worn, but I didn't pull it out to check as this made my clutch as light as on brand new scooter.

I really can't say for sure if this will help in your case. Just look at the clutch arm to see what position it is in. That should least help you decide if you need to go through this trouble or not.

Proper actuating arm adjustment via push rod shims (90 degrees to the cable @ 50%) and a "new" properly routed cable will make a tremendous difference.
