I hate to answer your question with a question. Do you have the front end off the ground? or did you grease the head bearings? If you still have your front forks off. Remove the top nut and the threaded collar or nut that has gaps in it ( sort a like what is used to adjust the rear spring on the rear shock). What you do is tighten or loosen while turning the triple clamp. Get it to where it is fairly tight but not bind your turning. Once you get it to that point and feel comfortable then reassemble your front end and test ride it. You can either loosen or tighten the nut to make small changes just don`t tighten it until it binds your turning. That should get you in the ball park. Hope this helps. Welcome to the site. :D

Hi Dadx6,
In the downloads section the 04 owners manual goes over the drill. If Dadx6 means you have 6 kids no doubt you have no time for that so here goes.
Raise frt wheel off ground, loosen all 5 pinch bolts on top steering stem, and top steering stem nut.Tighten nut under top steering stem until no play is felt .Tighten all 5 pinch bolts to 20nm and tighten top stem nut.
....nsman
If your question referred to how tight the adjustment should be at the no play point I adjust mine the Yamaha way. With the front wheel on and the front wheel elevated you should be able to bounce the steering stem against the stop one side to the other and it should stop at the centre again. If it keeps going its too loose and if it stops before it centres its too tight.

I couldn't find the 04 manual, But what you toled me got the job done.
Thanks

yup 6 kids from 9 to 24, never a dull moment

The manuals are at the Husaberg home site. http://www.husaberg.se/

click on downloads, then on former files. You want the 'GB' versions.

Ok, now I have the bearings set as tight as I can get with out binding with the wheel off of the ground. with the bike on the ground the bars move freely. but when I'm riding the steering feels stiff. When I lean the bike,it turns great.
Any ideas?

Thanks

You might want to try backing the nut off a little bit and see if that helps. Might have to road test some more to see witch setting you like best. Sounds like it still might be a little to tight. Should be able to remove top nut and then readjust the lower one with out doing anything else. Make sure the top nut is on tight when you are done. I think you could do it that way. Hope this helps.
