were the stator issues fixed on 04 plus models?
also, will an 04 fe450 stator work on a 02 fx 470 ??
 
stator problems on an '04 usually had to do with the 12v output wire desoldering itself from the coil. easy fix with a soldering iron.
the '02 uses an sem system and the '04 uses a kokusan: so no.
