Hi Mark,
Sorry for the delayed reply.
Do not use either flywheel scribe as most often they are not even close to being correct. If you are wishing to approximate TDC (lash adjustment, etc.) simply do so via the spark plug hole.

In order to accurately inspect ignition and / or cam timing identify TDC using a positive stop and degree wheel. From confirmed TDC you may now use said degree wheel for cam timing confirmation or a dial back timing light for ignition.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Dale

Hi,

What is the correct ignition timing? 7 degrees or ... ?
I assume the coil influence the ignition timing through the rpm as well.

Optimum ignition timing is influenced by many factors including ambient conditions and fuel. Most often regarding the Husaberg somewhere in the range of 32 - 36 degrees BTDC (wide open throttle) provides for the best performance above 3500 RPM.

Note:
Since the plug is fired every 360 degrees a dial back timing light shall register twice the true advance value.

Sincerely,
Dale

Does this influence the performance under 3500 RPM a lot? I am more interested in the performance between 2000 RPM and 6000 RPM.

Is the mark on the stator okay to use?
