Stator screw size

I was lucky enough to have a stator screw back out and break off. Another backed out some, and the third held on. Needless to say, I need to get some more screws, among other things.

Anyone know offhand the screw length? (98 fee501) I see in the parts manual 5x30, I'm assuming this is the thread. I unfortunately don't have a screw with me and was going to stop after work.

Also the stator wiring moved some, when the stator got loose and the flywheel bit through most of a couple wires, I'll solder them together, but is shrink tube the best to reseal them?

Thanks fellas

5x30 = 5mm dia. and 30 mm long

Thanks, I was thinking it was like a 1/4-20 bolt, where 20's the thread pitch.

Man I personally am glad you caught that. I was riding in the middle of nowhere, Utah on my 98 fe600 and had my bolts back out, left me dead in my tracks, with a helluva big summer storm rollin' in. locktight is all I can say after that adventure...

Yeah, it's not a lot of fun. I got caught at the highway offramp waiting for a light, 2 miles from home. Had to do the walk of shame, pushing my broke bike home through the city.
