Stator measurements

My Fe400E won't start. The Stator measurements are as follows. Is the stator shot(my guess)?

Ohms:
yel/blu 0
rd/blk 2.7
gr/blk .5

VAC (unloaded):
yel/blu 3
rd/blk 13
gr/blk 4

I've checked all the connections and grounds. I've installed a new spark plug and cap. I also cut i/2 inch off the plug wire to make sure I had good wire.

I read the thread on stators from about a year ago. Has anyone come up with a better solution the this stator issue?

Your data (rd/blk 13) indicates the 'Primary Ignition Charge' circuit is bad, it should put out 30-35 volts unloaded.

Good luck, I am on my 2nd replacement stator.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't want to spend the $350+ until I was sure. Ofcourse I'll do whatever it take to get my mistress (the bike that makes my GSX-R jealous) running.

The stator comes with a new flywheel, which I recommend you also install because the epoxy used to bond the magnets in starts to crack. You need a KTM/Husaberg flywheel puller to get it off. I paid $12 for mine at the Husaberg/KTM dealer. If you are ordering a stator/flywheel from Motoexotica, I recommend you buy the puller also instead of barrowing one. I have use mine 6 times already.

Good Luck,

Joe
