stator cracking up

i had my flywheel weight rub against the stator and figured that a weight was about to fall out of the mouding. so i replaced the flyweheel in the spring.

now i see that all the plastic around the stator is breaking up! this is very recent and coincides with me removing the balancer weight. i'm sure that this is just a coincidence though!

how much longer does my stator have?

over the winter is it best to;
buy another?
have this one made even supadooper better abroad?
can i get a better ignition curve done at the same time?

regards

Taffy

My stator has been cracking since new but it stills work without problem. I have checked the main bearings and they are okey so I do not know why this happens. The rotor starts to crack as well. Vibrations? If, from where?

Gentlemen,
The plastic like matrix is only good for so many heat (expansion) cycles.
The Stator will continue to work minus the wrapper. For many years I had both stator and flywheel Cryogenically treated. Said treatment improved low rpm spark output via a reduction in fine wire resistance. Unfortunately the "deep freeze" caused severe cracking making the end user a bit uncomfortable.

Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Dale
