Great forum - hope i don't catch hell for a silly question but here goes.
We recently picked up a near mint 2001 Husaberg FX650e. This bike was al in boxes and the final result was a very-very well kept bike. There were alot of extra parts such as twin pipes, crankshafts, sleeves, - suspension etc. etc.
Well - the bike is back together as per the latest manual. We "bump" start it under compression with ease - runs very very well. kick starting is .......well........ we managed to get it going ONCE after bing started using kick starter. (cannot connect electric starter - missing parts)
My question is - IF we disable the kick-start decompression cable, we have GOOD starting compression just from the auto decompressor at the cam. Bike WILL start.
If we hook the cable decompressor to the kick-start, compression is lowered to 60 psi, as measures through several kicks.
Yes, valves are set properly, cable adjusted as per manual.
Actual question - when using the kick-start, after positioning piston just past TDC, do you prevent kick-start from fully retracting i.e. bring it back to top for a full kick but not so far as to engage the cable decompressor? or do you allow cable to engage decompressor?
If this is not clear please let me know and I will explain better.
If you are in fact re-engaging the cable decompressor (can hear a click) - maybe the adjustment for the cable is wrong?
