starter removal

whats the prefered way just to remove the starter motor for inspection and rewind? can it be done without taking clutch side engine cover off? if so is it just a case of off withh the wires and bracket and out she pops with a little pry bar?

No need to remove the side cover. Remove the starter solenoid and battery with the battery box. Remove the starter and starter bracket screws/ bolts . Wiggle the starter and just pull it out.
