Hi all :)

I have taken the torque limiter and re shim it with 0.4mm Shim like some of you have done here and before of that it slip with 14 Nm pressure but now at 25 Nm so it shall works.I put everything together and close work on motor and try to start but it still slip.

I have already bought a new Battery and clean the starter motor and he is fine and works well so the only piece to look at now is the sprague clutch.

Is it any other thing then sprague clutch i have to look at or and what can i do with it to fix it or do i have to buy new.

Season here is about 4 months and i hope to fix it to stand the season or how much will new one last if i buy a new sprague clutch and torque limiter.

I have a similar problem as you on my 06 FS650e with only 30hrs on it.

Can you tell me more about your situation - in my case I am suspecting too heavy an oil at cool temperatures (15W-50 at 10C) took the gear wheel torque limiter out but I am not sure of it...

If I figure it out I'll be sure to let you know... :)

Cheers

the owners doc shows how all the parts can be upgrded. the starter sprague wears quickly on the earlier engines, it can be replaced regularly or do a once-and-for-all fix.

to upgrade check the doc but you will need a CBR600 starter and a YTZ7S battery for starters.

regards

Taffy

If it is still slipping check the auto de-compressor. I killed a good torque limiter because the de-comp was not working. The spring was broken and not holding the cam at the correct position. Since I replaced it and the torque limiter it works very well.
