Hi all, I have a 550fe 2008 model, After a new battery and plug i am still having probs... it will start initially on the kick(sometimes that takes an age) but it used to start on the button when warm. Now its being a bit of a pain, it just clicks on the ele start without turning over, i initially thought it could be the starter jamming but have been told its the battery... the battery doesnt seem to hold the charge very well... just looking for suggestions can anyone help please...

if your auto decomp is weak and not working well it forces the battery to overstretch and shags it out in no time. if you can feel the full force of compression on the kickstart the chances are that the ADC has packed up. so no matter how many batteries you buy - you're always going to have that problem till you cure it. it's the spring: it either unwinds or goes weak.

Thanks Taffy, there is bags of compression, maybe a daft question whats the ADC...
