im refitting the starter back on a 650 fe before i start all the internals have been removed so have replaised the brocken slipper cogg and the roller bearing.now is there any more roller bearings that will have been removed with the gears from the starter system i cant see any in the owners docs or the workshop manual.are there any that should be mounted into the outer case or inner case?.i dont want to start and then find out they are missing, all the parts came with the bike in a box with a damaged sliper cogg and only one small roller bearing so any one shed some light on this before i start?

What year?
Been awile since I was inside and did it to mine but I think ya got a set of rollers in the case and side cover for the idler and the sprague so thats 4 if I remember right. Blind bearings and a bit&h to get out if they are forked. Thats actually what caused the only major failure on my 01 501 was the idler roller in the side cover.

There is also 1 in the spragg assy which makes 5.
Are you replacing the idler gear (anti kickback clutch) as well ?

yes its a new one aswell he had baught only one part not the 2 there is no way they have been left in the engine only the sprag and idler have been removed
