Hi!

I have a husaberg 450fe 2006.
I decide to order stainless oil filter but surprise, I order the short one and I have the long one in the bike.

Can it be used in my 450? if so, Is there any utility to the short oil filter (cold, better pre-heat) vs long (heat, oil flow)? I double check and it was list for the bike.

Does Katana 10w50 is a good choice for this engine? I was suggest to une cheap synthec oil.

Does the clutch generate metal debris on the magnet?

Thanks!

Daniel

Good oil has always been akin to cheap insurance. Motorex is not cheap insurance now! A good oil changed more often may be better?

Yes the clutch leaves metal powder debris but not much....it is metal slivers you need to watch for.

It's thé reason why I want stainless filter to change it more often. With Motorex, do you change it every 10h? I only ride offroad.

I usually find métal powder but I found a tall pig métal debris very small. One day I had to ''slide'' thé clutch in a very technical trail. Could it be also a clutch debris?

At the very least, with a paper filtre you are removing the debris every time, Metal maybe no so much, you clean the metal one but do you get all the debris??

it's wasn't in thé paper filter, it's more in thé pre filter in plastic. I'll make my oil change in two weeks. I'll take a picture if I found something.

I ran Scotts metal filters in a KTM 580 a decade ago.

My memory is that I'd stick with paper filters.

On a big dollar stroker engine, I was never confident I had completely flushed out the particles in the reusable metal filters. The reusable aspect of it was messy, and not what I desired, a good low micron paper filter is inserted, used, removed and disposed off.
It is also cheap.

A reusable metal filter needs a clean room mindset to cleaning, flushing, drying.

I always work in my garage, et I'll make sure to clean everything well. I though that the micron was better on a stainless filter.
Did it help during cold day to start?
In my area, oil filter cost 10$ and a stainless is 35$.
I'm not racing with the bike, just riding and having fun but I'm thinking to flush my oil more often during hard riding.
