Hello Taffy, Im the rider you met at Tbec. Hows it going? I'm doing the enduro this Sunday again, should be good.

When I saw the words 'SR Offroad' in topics it made me feel sick. They completely destroyed my engine, started off with the main bearing, a common fault and fair enough, but in 'fixing' it they created more and more problems, major problems! Almost as if they were doing it on purpose to get extra money. At the time I was totally new to bergs so didn't know about SR's awful reputation until it was too late. I payed them around £1100 and after 3 times of being 'sorted out' then shitting its self I was tearing my hair out. The worse thing was they played along with it claiming to be astonished as to why it kept blowing up. They could of caused me a major accident as one time when this happened I was riding at about 60/70mph when it went and the rear locked up but luckily I was riding in a straight line so managed to keep the thing upright.

I took it to DCR in the end and to the tune of another £1000 they completely rebuilt the engine and its never missed a beat since and this was well over a year ago. Changed the oil & filter every 8hrs of road riding or after each enduro and its very reliable. Dcr told me that SR had completely butchered my engine, put parts in it from an older 400 model, used tyre levers to get the casing off which wrecked it etc. I even found the bolt at the engine mounts at the front of the frame loose hanging out with the sleeve missing. They even lied about putting a claim in because of a manufacturers fault which when I enquired with Dcr they hadn't heard of any claim!

It wasn't just normal customers they did over, apparently they were up to no good on the supermoto race scene as well, f*cking racers over. They also claimed they were an independent team as well which wasn't true. They've as good as gone bust I think. It all went sour with Husaberg so they went to Aprilia last year and raced them in the British Supermoto champs. I did read in Tbm a couple of issues ago that their premises were broken into and several bikes I think the aprilia race bikes were stolen aswell as gear. This was in Wirksworth. They stopped racing with Aprilia and were testing/working with the Synergy supermoto. God knows, but I like to shake the hand of the people who did over their premises, I finally felt like a bit of justice had been done :)

I've since met other riders both on forums dating a while back right up to recently at a bike meet that have been screwed by SR with their bergs too, I wonder just how many people have fallen victim to them. I did find Dcr's nickname for Mick Spencer amusing- 'The laughing assassin'

I'm no expert on technical stuff but I'll route all the paperwork out at some point and explain exactly what they did.

well as you know steve, i've now entered the trade (again) but that does sound bad fella. the two lads down here at isleham i often mention bought all their stuff off mick and had no problems but then he never did any work on their bikes.

his deals each year were said to be good.

from my point of view he only 'did' me once and that was the last time i was likely to deal with him. i'd left him when he said he was gtting out of husaberg and went back for an '03 electronic speedo which never woked. sent it back and heard nothing.

just a discrete mention here but gary grover wasn't in his shop early this week. i think he has decided to go part-time for the immediate future. i think he's going to be open on mon/fri/sat for sure and possibly one other.

GGR

I was in the shop on Tuesday talking with Gill, Garys other half, spoke to him on the phone last night. To say he's going part time is a little misleading. He's generally closed on Wednesday, and on selected weeks he may not be open on Tues/thurs

RE: GGR

misleading!

you compare your days to mine and there is little difference. i called several times on tuesday and got no reply.

misleading? choose your words more carefully. especially as gary is still settling into it and things may change quickly from one conversation to another.

RE: GGR

Taffy,

I think you should leave it to Gary to confirm what hours he's doing business or not. What you're saying is actually somewhat misleading. If he's not in the shop answering the phone doesn't mean he's not doing business, just got other things on - sometimes that's as simple as being next door or picking up/delivering a customer bike.

I think it is highly inappropriate of you to post this kind of stuff.

For everyone else, consider it business as normal at Gary Grover Racing and if you don't get an answer on the phone, leave a message.

RE: GGR

i got the words from gary's mouth. to say that it's business as usual is misleading not that he is not going to be open some days of the week - that's misleading!!!!

stick a sock in it simon.

trying to infer like a little boy that i somehow am trying to make this up is just a load of balls as usual by you.

i wish gary the very best and wanted this to be a footnote - it's not even a new thread but as usual you come along stirring trouble all the time.

Are you making a formal statement on Gary's behalf or are you just interpreting what is going on and then posting it to the world with a semi understanding of the situation?

Without a formal statement by Gary or by someone on his behalf, it should be considered by all that it's business as usual.

The fact of the matter is that it is inappropriate and really none of your business to be discussing Gary's business structure on a public forum without him involved in the discussion.

RE: Re: RE: GGR

hes only writing what he was told, why would someone who brings as much to this forum in the way of help and advice the way taffy does have reason to write misleading information?
If someone tells me XYZ then i write XYZ on a forum, theres no problem. As far as im concerned taffy might be doing someone a favour by saving them a long journey and finding out he's shut on that particular day, at least they know to ring before setting off. From a personal point of view, this Gary's website is never on and ive been trying to get in touch for 3 months now, every time i phone there is no answer, the 2 times i did get through he wasnt there anyway. As for a moderator I think from your previous posts you are trying to defend GGR for some reason, a moderator is supposed to be neautral, someone sitting on the fencel. The correct thing for you to do would be to say nothing, and alert GGR to this thread by way of email, phone etc (good luck by the way) and le him comment for himself. Your comments are unacceptable and your manner is atrocious.
