Well the 570 is finally back together and purring. It's taken ages (3months) due to waiting for parts to arrive to little NZ from the states, plus work and timing etc. The bike is nearly ready to go, just waiting on a late addition of a DT cam chain tensioner (the cam chain was a bit loose, so i replaced it while i was in there). I also am upgrading the stand and the radiator cap, which are also on the way with the tensioner. To fully protect the spline, I've found a cush hub rear wheel as well. It's a Talon cush hub with brand new rubbers, laced to an Excel double signature rim. There were issues with the Talon on bigger bikes (KTM950/990) but for $400AUD/$330USD for the entire wheel it was worth a try!
I haven't ridden extensively but everything is working as it should and nothing is leaking. It gave me a chance to do a lot of cleaning and improving with new washers, some new bolts, greasing all pivots and generally tidying all around after hammering it for 8500kms. I'll update after the last bits are put on and I've got a few trips under my belt. For now, just happy to have her back together and running again!
