Sprocket spline stripped :( :(

Well the 570 is finally back together and purring. It's taken ages (3months) due to waiting for parts to arrive to little NZ from the states, plus work and timing etc. The bike is nearly ready to go, just waiting on a late addition of a DT cam chain tensioner (the cam chain was a bit loose, so i replaced it while i was in there). I also am upgrading the stand and the radiator cap, which are also on the way with the tensioner. To fully protect the spline, I've found a cush hub rear wheel as well. It's a Talon cush hub with brand new rubbers, laced to an Excel double signature rim. There were issues with the Talon on bigger bikes (KTM950/990) but for $400AUD/$330USD for the entire wheel it was worth a try!

I haven't ridden extensively but everything is working as it should and nothing is leaking. It gave me a chance to do a lot of cleaning and improving with new washers, some new bolts, greasing all pivots and generally tidying all around after hammering it for 8500kms. I'll update after the last bits are put on and I've got a few trips under my belt. For now, just happy to have her back together and running again!:D

Hey guys the MotoMox cash drive sprocket is now available on their page, it has been tested on several bikes in hard conditions over the 12months. It around NZ$300 from their site. The body of the sprocket is machined and the sprocket ring is replaceable so you only have to replace the ring in the future they stock the urethane bushes but they have lasted over 12months in hard testing so they aren't sure what the replacement intervals will be on them. And you can buy different chain ring so you can customize your ratios for the riding your doing. I am buying one shortly. And am no way involved with the company. Just it's a hole lot cheaper than a rear hub. It's been designed with the KTM, Husaberg, and Beta in mind. For some reason I can't copy and past links today but if anyone reading this is interested check out. Moromox.Co.NZ

Hey Jeff (octopusenvy) hope your bike is back on the road. Mines back next weekend still no Cush sprocket can't afford it till after Xmas, bloody casuals contracts and no holiday pay. Hádge

Hi guys

Was changing out a leaking CS seal on fe570 and noticed some wear on the CS splines... The bikes had a cush drive on for half its life

I have been quoted 6 hours for the repair, $200 for a new CS and $380 for full gasket set.

Do people on here think this is an absolute necessity? I will be racing the bike 450kms through the Australian dessert in the middle of the year.
