What are the stock spring rates for a 2010 FE570, US model?
thanks

.44 and 72nm's I believe. In the owners manual it will be the middle of the three listed.

The reason I asked is a friend of mine has the 570 and he is wanting to change springs. I have some extras and was wondering what stock was. He weighs about the same as you, what springs are you running?
thanks

Before I answer you, what kind of rider is he and where does he ride. My bike is set up for a Desert Expert. And how much does he weigh in street clothes?

Hey Husarod,
Looking at Dales weight 172pounds, add 23 ~ 28 pounds for riding kit.
I'll take a guess Dale would be running .46's in the front and a 7.6 to 9.5 progressive in the back
Reckon he runs 33mm of static sag in the back too.

Sounds like I know what I am talking about hey?

Morning world! it's a lovely sunny morning here in Sydney with temp gauge reading 10C (50F)
Davo.

I would say he is a fast "B" rider and the trails in Illinois are tight single track, slippery roots and black loamy soil. I imagine he weighs in about 200 in street clothes.

Okay,

Just use the spring/rider weight guide in the owners manual.

Which I believe is .46NM's for the forks, or .47KG springs, and a 76NM rear spring or a 7.8KG rear spring. Set the rear static at 33mm to start, and the adjustable for pre load at 4 turns in. That should put him right around 100mm of rider sag, which is about where you want to be.

Set clickers at standard and play around with it from there, but, don't go beyond the rec clicker settings, you'll or rather he'll end up chasing his tail. I found that the "sport" settings only made the ride harsh with the stock valving.

With the correct springs the bike will be night and day difference for him.

Hope this helps.
