I will be north of spokane the week of the 20th of aug. Does anyone know of good riding around deer lake? if so any guides want to show me around? It wouldn't be easy but I am sure I could find a way to pack my scooter...

lots of riding around Spokane, it will be dusty by then. just let me know and we could go for a ride

VIKING

There are sooo many good spots to ride up there!!!!! I went to school up there for 2 years and wish I had my bike at that time.

7-mile ORV park is pretty cool, you should check that out. Ask a local bike shop for directions (easy to find) but I forgot the street names.

Sounds like I will enjoy riding around northern WA. I thought you would be the guy Viking, Northern Idaho and all.

7 mile is place to ride in desperation, there to many riders with carhart bibs and T shirt
you get my point and its very dusty there in mid aug. there is so much better riding
to be had elsewhere and some these places are cooler and in the shade
jwiily drop PM 2 weeks before your arrival so some plan can be made

VIKING

I will do that Viking. I will be at our cabin on the lake wakeboarding for a week and WILL need a break from the kids...

RE: deer lake

Wow, your talking about my neck of the woods, man I'm excited!!!!! Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system. I've heard that 7-mile is ok, as well as Riverside ORV area, I've never been to either though, about an hour north of Deer Lake on Highway 2 there is Badey Bould ORV riding area, lots tight woods riding with a few really technical rock areas (watch out for your discs, I bent my rear disc there a few weeks ago), then there is Extreme Motorsports track in Airway Heights, but that's a little ways off from where you'll be... Of course those are "approved" orv areas there are thousands of miles of logging road where a street legal enduro can go. If you don't mind riding a little bit of an "iffy" area just after you make the turnoff at Loon Lake on Gardenspot (I think that is the name of the road) in about 3/4 of a mile east of Hwy 395 you will see a turnoff on the left with a gate in it you can go ride the powerline roads there, nobody really minds that you ride there, the gate is mainly there for liability reasons. Of course if you would rather not ride areas like that, there are tons 'approved' areas. I hope you enjoy your vacation. -Eric
