Speedo questions 570 '10

Hi I have a problem with the speedo, It wont register the wheel turning. I have pulled apart all the connections and cleaned and checked them, the magnet in the disk is clean and has good magnetic charge. I have noticed the engine hours are still counting but no Km's are showing up.
Anyone got a fix or something I can try

Battery?

There's a small battery inside the speedo, try checking that. And check the cable both ends to see if it carries current

You need to check the reed switch and cable for continuity. Can't recall if it is normally open or closed but as the magnet passes the sensor Im pretty sure the switch closes completing the circuit. If there is no pulse the the speedo will not work, if you know someone with a similar bike you can swap out cables. Maybe you can help us here Davo ?

Ok so my friend has a KTM and I decided to swap things around to eliminate the problem.
I swapped the cable's, magnets, speedo drive. every thing worked on the KTM, so after knowing that everything worked on the Kato I then plugged my speedo computer into it, Nothing..... spin the front wheel it dosn't register. so the problem belongs in the unit itself. It still shows engine hours and lights up but the speedo for Km's shows zero as i spin the wheel.
anyone know if this would be a warranty thing or should i just go and get a trailtech speedo?

Sure you would get warranty on a 10 model ? I have heard good reports about the trail tech and the temp readout is a good idea.
