After a month or two of riding the bike new, it started to reset the 24 hour clock to zero. Then it started to display the error code for replacing the battery (rb 026 or something like that IIRC). So I replaced it with a new fresh battery figuring the battery maybe went stale while sitting in some parts bin or something.
PRoblem is, now, just a couple of months later, it is doing the same thing again.
Come on! The battery should last longer than that. I rarely use the speedo/odo when the bike is not running, so all the battery has to do is keep the internal clock going right? Doesn't the unit switch over to bike battery power when the bike is running and not have to use the coin battery?
Or is my unit flakey?
Otherwise it keeps all the other permanent info correctly - the total hours run, the total miles, etc. - but it loses the current time. Not a big deal, but I am thinking this will also affect some of the other settings - like lap time/distance if I ever figure out how to use them and it is frustrating.
