Hi everybody,

I'm just wondering if anyone has a good solution regarding leaky exhausts. The problem is where the dual exhausts enter the manifold. This has been corrected on later models with twinwalled connections. I haven't come up with something that can both seal and move. Maybe someone here has? Not a big prob, just looks a bit used after a while.

Sooty Exhaust

Hi, Husadave....
I use the same stuff at this joint as I do at the headpipe joint, a hi-temp rtv silicone seal, usually one rated for oxy sensor installs on manifolds. Works great, keeps the joint clean, cleans up easily for "next time", and also helps reduce possibility of exhaust-leak lean-burn condition.
I usually get either NAPA, Permatex, or equivalent brand. Mine has gone as long as 2 seasons of 1 or 2 hours per week, March through November, winter if the ground stays open.

I second that. It`s easy to do. I fixed the pipe joints that way and have not had any leaks, rattles or anything. The bike to me is quieter. You will notice a difference.

Ok guys, sounds great! Will try it. Thank you for your help!

Kind regards,

Dave
