Smaller gas tank?

A while back Fryguy said that a plastic version of the Omero alloy tank was coming in November/06. Any news on this tank? Fuel range is not a big issue but the width of the stock tank is.

Read Taffy's doc. He has managed to reduce the tank with the use of a heat gun (empty the tank first).

There is a smaller plastic tank coming as a 'Berg original accessory.
Spoke to the guys at Husaberg R&D here in Örebro and the latest is that it will arrive into stores early next year just like BMG said. As of now (couple of weeks ago) the color hadn't been decided but I think it sounded like it was going to be yellow. Hope they change their mind to dark blue (which was one of the other alternatives).

A narrower tank around 8 litres would be perfect for me. Yellow or natural (clear) would be my choices.

Seems like everyone has been looking for a bigger tank for years, now everyone wants a smaller tank! what gives?

I hate carrying around all that extra fuel! CMA rules make promotors have a gas stop every 60kms in an Enduro and most of our dual sport rides have a gas stop planned in every 75kms. I bet 8 litres will still go 100kms at trail speeds. Why carry around an extra 8lbs and 2.5 inches right between your legs?

save wieght? why not fill it half way. an extra 2.5 inches between your legs is usualy not a bad thing!

maddel

you can put that in 'after market goodies' yourself!

regards

Taffy

I have one of those....

Actually a prototype / pre production model in black carbon fibre. Unfortunately it cracked when I crashed in a race last year and the tank flew away from the bike.
