Smaller battery and battery cradle recommendation

As I have removed the starter assembly (paper weight), I'd also like to replace the battery with a smaller model, and to relocate it under the seat.

Basically I need it to run the lights as well as a GPS V Garmin unit.

What do you recommend I use to hold the battery under the seat and what type of battery?
