SM trackday at Teeside 02/09

I need to get my van sorted 1st, couldn't ride up there on the Berg (3+ hrs), track day, then ride back (3+ hrs), that would just be asking for trouble.

If I can get this van I'll sign up. Looking at the thread they're struggling for numbers for sure!

might get 2 bikes in my T4, only got 4 tie down points tho, and they're untested so far!! got a trailer too, could do one in and one out?
 
Thanks pal, that's a really kind offer! Yea I would be up for that if OK with you, only thing is I haven't got a tow bar?? :?

As I've mentioned I'm currently looking for a van to part-x with 2 cars, so hopefully I will sort this by end of next week. Anyway, I'll check with "higher command" @ HQ to see if it's a flyer to start with, then if that's OK, see if clear in work to take the day off & then look into a tow bar if I haven't sorted a van by then.

I'll let you know. If this comes off, I'll have a track day @ Silverstone on the Wednesday & a supermoto day on the Friday... Rock On!! :bounce3:

brilliant day at Teesside today, only one other 'berg there, and it was Andy Mitchell! so the was a really slow berg and a really fast one!!

weather stayed dry, had 6 half hour sessions, added to 5hour round trip has made me very tired!
 
Glad you were able to make it Jaymee, as it turns out I worked a blackie last night, got home @ 04:00 this morning & was back in for 14:30 for a meeting... :cry:

Anyways, I bet Andy was shifting..??? Must have been quickest there?

I've sorted the van now, just finished the installation of the lock n load tonight & took van + Berg for a test run around the neighborhood... so far so good.

I'll drop some pics on here so you can see how I got round the height difference to the footpegs. Loads/unloads really easy now.

Do you have any new dates for Trax? I'm ready & wanting to go to their next open evening, but the web site only has up to the 31/08/11 on it?

I'm 7 feet on pegs all the time haha!!

It could be is 87 a black one?

The sessions have stopped now on Wednesday nights, I was on my own there this week! He said he is going to so a weekend slot but nothing has been decided yet.
 
Thanks mate, I will call them next week just to show some interest & say I hope that we can get some regular weekend sessions, as I will certainly be turning up from now on (if dry.... I know....., I'm a girl in the wet) :oops: .

Just called, no news yet, was asked to call back in a couple of weeks. Seems like they're umming & arring on whether they will get enough attendance to make it worth while.

Is there much interest on here people? Suggest we get in touch if so, this is the only SM track with a £20ish track day option in the North West that I am aware of?

I'm going to post on the SM forum & see if we can drum up any interest.

saw your post on there, I spoke to a fella at teesside and he said they used to advertise a sunday session, people would travel from Leeds ect, then they would arrive to find go karts on the track and the SM sessions cancelled. I think the SM forum have kinda wrote of Trax, but there are loads of people round preston area who ride SM.

Its the same round here, I'm sure there must be several SM owners in the North West starved of track time who want a convenient track to get some practice riding on, without risk of overshooting under the wheels of a lorry...

I accept there may be little/no run off in places & can be slippy here & there, but you make a note & ride the track accordingly. Its safer than the road IMO, & worth £20 for a number of hours proper supermoto riding.

Its a shame the distances to other tracks are so far, just got the van set up for travelling with the bike in the back at least, just need to find a bloody track that I can use it on now... lol

Dont think i'll be ridin for a while. Durin the week i thought id try my luck at hesketh bank enduro course, first time off road on me crm.
Only did 2 laps, came off 3 times, 3rd time landed funny on me leg, over bent it in a wierd way.
Anyway, its swelled up like a bugger an ive just started walkin again, but dont think it'll be 100% for a while. Really peed off i is :cry:
Dont think i'll be off roadin again, if i do i'll be wearin a suit of armour!

Best staying on the flat tarmac stuff in future.

Not sure if i'll go in the mud again, if i do i'll have all the proper gear. Same goes for tarmac i guess. I might invest in some leather slacks
 
if the trax sessions ever get going theres a tarmac to dirt jump to get you back into it!!

I was thinking of buying an MX bike to get some more bike time, the MX sessions are always on at trax. Seems to be a real lul in the SM sceen at the moment, the last FlidFest was there was only 30 riders, thats £90 for sat/sun open pits from 9.30-5pm absolutly ace!

Think theres another possibly in october if theres enough interest, but id be taking some wets!!
 
Yeah, theres a MX track opened 10 minutes from my house (Base Motopark: http://www.basemotopark.co.uk/)! I've got one eye on it, and was contemplating the cost of a set of MX wheels for the Berg, as you say, just to get some more use out of the bike.

But more so, I hope there are weekend sessions back on at Trax, its the SM that I really like, the muddy stuff is not my cup of tea TBH.

I'm going to call next week again. Are there any SM track days @ 3 sisters? I think there are some intermittent sessions during the Norasport weekends?

Has anyone heard of any other track day type sessions for SM at 3 sisters?

I quite enjoyed the dirt till i hurt meself, but bein a total novice to it id have to put serious learning time into it, but i dont have that kinda spare time, and cant afford to keep injurin meself. Plus im not that young anymore. Be a shame to put knobblies on your berg though, that off road stuff wont treat your bike well, unless you like it lookin battered.
Gonna try some gentle green laning next :)

As regards 3 sisters, it always seems to be on weekdays when ive seen it on. Thats no good to me.
I'll keep me ears open about it though
