Anyone using a slipper clutch such as the STM unit ?
My intended use for this would be MX and enduro racing.
I am currently running a 03 400 6spd. I believe the clutch
spline was changed in the middle of 2003 . I'm not sure if
mine is early or late as I do not know the difference in the
two spline counts . Also curious about interchangability with
KTM such as some of the recluse units seemed to be . KTM
applications are much easier to find as we all know . 8O

Thanks to all ,
Ryan

A slipper for off road ????? have you looked into the Rekluse auto clutch....half the price and might be more usefull for off road use ?? just a thought ....

Yeah, the rekluse unit in Taffy's bike was mine.
I do not want to do away with the clutch, just the engine braking.
Primary uses MX and SX .
Thanks Brian, do you use a slipper clutch? I have no experience
with them , just a thought going thruogh my head .

After my new wheelset I will be getting a slipper.........I've ridden a few bikes with slippers and really quite like them, don't have to feather the clutch initially anymore....a buddy has a rekluse for the dirt section and starts
(450SMR) this guy swears by them....he has a roadrace style and convinced a slipper is a waste for him....

You can't interchange KTM with Berg STM slippers as with the clutches being on opposite sides the ramps for the slip are the opposite way around. I don't know how the Berg/Ktm slipper( the one in Force parts) works as they are different to the STM design I think.
