Slickrock Campground...what to expect.

Cabins. The cabins are small and spartain. They consist of 2 beds, an electrical outlet and a heater I think. You may get a night stand if your lucky.
Showers and restrooms are community, not too bad last time we were there. You will need to bring your own towels, soap etc.. Bring a flashlight.
I brought my own sleeping bag and pillows last time so I cant really say what the bed linens were like.
Fires. Fires are only allowed in pits provided. Last time, there was 1 pit and it was not very big. I will try to bring a portable pit. 1 or 2 of these would probably be a good idea. It got pretty chilly at night.
Noise. The firing of bikes and riding in the campground should be kept to a minimum. There are a few people who live there full time and we dont want to piss them off.
After 10pm we will want to make a conciouse effort to keep the noise to a minimum. If we do this right, that wont be a problem. Most people will be to wore out to stay up much later than that.
Drinking. Just keep in mind that you are in Utah, it should go without saying. I can guaranty that no one will want to ride this stuff hung over.
Riding. Please have your bikes ready to roll when you get there. If there is a 10am ready to ride time posted that means geared up, bike running and your *** in the seat at 9:59 am ready for the riders meeting. If you need to do maintenance, please try to do it the night before. The groups will be large and everybody will have to be on the same page. Everyone needs to start with a full camelpack. If it were up to me, no camelpack,no ride.
Spares. I would bring whatever you can. There is virtually nothing in the way of spare parts there.

I will add more as I think about it. Please feel free to post comments, questions or aadd to anything I missed.

That is what I was expecting! Are the people at the campground going to have a problem with oil changes? It sounds stupid, but some places really frown on that.

No, we didn't have any problems doing maintenance. Our group was pretty much respectful for the most part and caused no problems. Of course the group was half the size of this time.
I think most people were on there somewhat best behavior since non of us had really met before. No one knew what to expect.
The first Moab ride was alittle disorganized, but turned out to be an awesome event (in my opinion...keep in mind that I am easily amused).

Bring lights.

There is no outside lighting. Lanterns, flashlights, etc.....

Maybe a string of construction lights with a small quiet generator would work.

the bed linen was clean but consisted of a sheet above and below with two army-type (well at least british army right!) blankets and i was freezing. luckily the heating was like a furnace. can't remember now but i think we kept it on all night! i reckon you need a sleeping bag and the blankets!

i suggest if cold you do what bob did and that's get closer to one-lung. doesn't HAVE to be one-lung though....

some of the lads brought huge cool boxes full of ice and these lasted the three plus days. so if you bring beer you may find room to share.

most people did little or no maintenance while we were there. just ride it!

we had a burst water hose for joeusa, SEM ignition for bobzilla, some other stuff for fryguy i think.

if people CAN bring spaeres to keep the group going that would be great!

as for noise - difficult one.

suggest we have a "last chance saloon" marquee behind the cabins so all we upset is ourselves if it's going to be an issue! we weren't and won't be rowdy BUT just having 10-15 people left together at midnight creates noise. please be easy on these people. what's the alternative? an early night? don't talk? be miserable and unhappy?

so....

anyway, fraser (cypher) is on the bag pipes for revalea and last post.... so you have to wake with him and slip a with the skirl!

I think their website states no Generators.

Jwilly and I have reservation for a full hook-up RV site which has power, we will not need generators just lights and extension cords.
