can some one post a pic of the bracket where the side stand bolts onto the frame please

on a fe modle if there not different thanx gaz

i took it for a MOT last week and the garage snaped the bracket right off trying to staet it :( so making a new bracket an wondering if any1 has made them or stronger

You shouldn't start the bike when on it's sidestand. Learned that the hard way, when I snapped a brand new sidestand after only three kicks.
That's a lot of force coming down on a small piece of metal at an akward angle.

Put the bike upright and then kick, harder to do, but no other way i'm afraid.

No SpikeH, you're absolutely right. First snap off the stand by kick starting or similar; then file the break to a nice point and sand off all the paint (roasting in a fire will do but it smells a bit), then slide on 1/2 dozen marchmellows (or rat kebab) and gently toast over a hot rocker cover..yum yum..When finished simply store your new toasting fork down the tail pipe...Sorted.
