A friend of mine took is BMW to South Africa as excess baggage. He arranged this with his airline beforehand. Was much cheaper than any of the dedicated carriers, and arrived with him. Still had to wait for customs clearance.

I spent a lot of time researching shipping to Kyrgyzstan. I know it’s a bit different than shipping to the UK but I can share a little of what I found out. These sites helped somewhat and they gave me several good leads to email. Most of my time was spent emailing requests for quotes and calling local (Kyrgyz) shippers looking for the cheapest quote. One hang up you may run into is an issue with the title. Some shippers require all the title paperwork to be in order but there are escrow companies that can help, even with the purchase sometimes.

Anyways, I hope it helps. Maybe you can get use out of all the time I spent on the subject. I never did go though with any of it because the cheapest quote I got was 5k. Not including local taxes and fees.

If it's only the rolling chassis without engine I would think that shipping it the official way in a crate or what ever, would be a waste of money. Take it apart, get rid of the parts that are cheep in the UK to save weight, and ship the remaining parts separately by DHL, UPS or Feddex though one of the Husaberg.org guys. They can lower the import tax by lowering the insured value that is stated on the transport box. Thats a risk you can take. This is a way to import cheep parts from the USA to Europe without paying to much tax, but you need someone to send the parts with a good value on the box that "smells but does not stink".
