also whilst i have always fancied an alloy tank how do they hold up to knocks? surely they'll dent whereas a plastic one would just flex?
 
Your cheesecake male model in the photo appears a bit too GQ to be a Husaberg rider. Good probability he rides on something else, maybe a scooter. And who dressed him up, his mommy?

That aluminum gas tank is sweet.
 
So is Husaberg the first to break into this new demographic?

Has anyone seen any spy photos of the 07 models yet and are they going to include sort of a rainbow color scheme?

How big is that omerto tank? Looks like it fits good and not too bulbus or is it a smaller one? Please let me know before I spend $600. That was the hold back when you were asking for a order. Thats a lot fo a po boy like me to spend on something sight unseen. :)

I thought those WEC guys ran in tough conditions. That bike would not finnish 1 race out here in Nevada. You got no condoms :twisted:
Black wheels look cool but what do they do better than the oem ones? I have whacked some big rocks at high speeds and never got a big dent in mine.

Seriously I would think you would at least have a skid plate, disc protector, rad guards, and a scotts. Those items at the very few that our bike needs from the factory..... oh yeah and a BIG TANK :p

No streamlining of any nature and a big square number plate our 2000 DT 400 was officially clocked @ 116 MPH. Does that count for anything? :lol:

WEC is a different breed.
The black wheels just look trick, no functional difference.
Skid plates are often necessary, but often left off if there is a chance of making the engine overheat.
Rad guards make the engine run warmer, espcially if clogged with mud (I don't use them for that reason either).
Not many WEC bikes use a steering dampner, many folks believe that a dampner is only a coverup for poorly tuned suspension. Finely tuned suspension to get maximum traction for braking, steering, and accelerating is imperative to winning, and I would guess that the reasoning is that the dampner would only cause the rider to gibe invalid feedback to the tuner.
Gas stops are 25 miles apart in WEC, so a large tank only adds unnecessary weight. Remember, these bieks ride 150+ miles per day, but have lots of gas stops (to replace and change parts), and the race is won in the sprints, so the bike is made to win sprints.
It makes lots of sense to me, but I appreciate WEC racing.
