Can anyone suggest the best way to clean and service the injector ? Cheers

i just took the air filter off and fired it up and sprayed injection cleaner through it for a couple of seconds intermittently splutters and coughs but seemed to work

Are you having injector problems? If you are, IMO there are only 2 ways to clean an injector, both of wich require removing it from the bike. One is to clean it with one of the ultrasonic injector cleaners. The other is to have it stripped and cleaned by a qualified injector specialist. Personally I've no faith in the cleaners and various potions you add to the fuel. Can't see how removing the air filter and spraying cleaner though the air intake can do anything because it won't pass through the injector anyway.

Oh really lol I just thought if air goes through then so will the cleaner ?

Air and anything it carries will go straight into the combustion chamber to mix with fuel fired in by the injector but only fuel from the tank will pass through the injector itself so the only way to get cleaner through the injector is to mix it with the fuel.

I am no expert in the matter but I agree. I just think that fuel being pumped through the injector at 48~54psi is enough to keep the injector clean. A clogged injector caused by something more solid getting past an old clogged fuel filter or accidently introduced while doing mainenance on the fuel system is another story. Clogged injectors need a visit to the qualified injector specialist.

Good clean plastic fuel drums is something I learnt long ago with boats.
I try to use good fuel too and only use Shell V-Power 98 RON in my FE570 and it seems to go OK. I should be using 95 RON but I don't.

Cheers boys

Mines running great just thought id be proactive and clean it out.. Is there an inline filter before the injector to clean if so would it be near the throttle body or near the pump ? Also someone mentioned there is a filter screen in the pump ?

Bike is truly a weapon it just taks a hammering on trails and I try to keep everything tight and clean

There's a mesh filter screen fitted onto the bottom of the pump itself which can be removed and cleaned in necessary. There's also a disposable inline filter (Mahle KL97) in the outlet pipe from the pump inside the tank. Depending on what year your bike is there may be a filter located in the pipe to the injector located just before the injector itself IRC. I think is was fitted from 2011 onwards. My 2010 model doesn't have one.
