Hello

My FE501e '02 is in engine maintenance ( Piston, rings, etc ) :D . Actually my bike has its original SEM stator more than two years I beleive it will to die in any moment :?

Which is the best way you guys recommend
* Replace for a new one ?
* ktm part Stator Loose 13 cod. 58031002050 ?
* rewind stator

Thanks a lot

its also true that the earth may be hit by a meteor at any time as well. :yikes: if you have no obvious signs of its failure, i'd just ride and enjoy, but i wouldn't change it til it dies, if it ever does.

Choices choices choices

If you get a new stator from Husaberg it comes with the flywheel which seems to come apart at some point in time.

You will save money with the KTM part but no flywheel.

Sparks can rewind it perhaps better than stock but again no flywheel.

If your going to keep your bike for a long time I would get a new Husaberg stator and flywheel and then send your old stator to sparks.

or like Ned alluded to, if it ain't broken why fix it.

Hi Morrisberg,

I got an email from somebody from Peru the other day don't know if it was from you though.
The Ignition system fitted to the Husaberg from 99 to 03 was one unto it's own for this period, prier to 99 the KTM LC4 stator would work OK but not on the above years mentioned.
As far as I am aware your year only comes complete with flywheel which is fairly expencive I think in UK they cost around 300.00 Uk pounds, just had a price increase by all accounts.
What makes you think your stator is about to die?.

Regards

Sparks.

Thank you very much guys for your comments and suggestions :thumb:
Yes Ned37 and Husabutt , you're right. If I think in next meteor or next comet I will never be happy :hang:
I must be more light :hotsun:
Yes Sparks, I'm from Peru ( Wonderful place :cheers: ). I wrote you some days ago when I visited your web site. :hugeeyes:
Well, in resume the history:
First stator died because a suddenly heart attack. It didn't worked anymore......
Second stator, suddenly, when I was in low revs or low speed the engine turned off. I checked plug, carburator and many other things. After some weeks it died....RIP :angel12:
Actually my bike is with the third stator. But I was out of enduro activities for more than two years and the bike is in maintenence. Also, I was very carefuly with stator maintenance ( checked gaskets, clean the areas, no dust, no water...) Now, it looks OK but thinking in last experiences I don't want surprises.
Thanks again for your comments. Any suggestion is welcome !!!
Best regards
Morrisberg
