Looks really sexy!

I'd personally like it even better in anodized black or blue.
BTW, bush do you have that wolf logo in vectors?

yes I agree anodised blue before engraving would be the best,

polishing it was just a bit of a **** really, this is as shiny as it will ever be, i give my bikes a hard time so it will be scratched and dented in no time LOL

the eps file is here www dot brandsoftheworld dot com/logo/hbg-0]HBG | Brands of the World? | Download vector logos and logotypes

anything is possible KFS :D

there is about 4 1/2 hrs machining time, probably could get that down to 3 1/2hrs, $60 worth of aluminium, machine wear and tear, then cutters and the power cost, postage from aust, then after all that is covered i need to see if i want to make any money as well LOL

first i'll have to see if it works properly for a few months and see how busy I am with the wizards hat society meetings :D

Gr8 looking nuts..... (Pic) no I wasn't talking about u. Lol
Oops ... I mean gr8 job bush
Well done ....
I wouldn't think will be cheap thou been customiz job , kfs

Looking fantastic Bushie

If the stars align, I shall have a mill next week, but a real simple basic tilting head job, full manual control only, but gunna be fun!

FWIW, Dale Lineaweaver used to sell billet anodized blue engraved stator covers for the Gen1s. I got one of the last ones on my '98. Much more durable than the stock plastic ones. Were about $100 OTTOMH, so yours should come it at what, $150, based on your calcs above?

yes something like that Steve plus some fuel money for my bike so about $200

Sweet bebe jeezuz Bushie, that is some seriously good looking work! I'm starting to think that I need one these for my old mill. Let me know if you ever are going to produce any more of those. Maybe some substantial amount of home brewed "jungle juice" makes it easier to persuade you to make some more covers? ;) :p

Really nice work Bushie! :notworthy::notworthy::eek:ccasion5:

thank you gentlemen im happy you like how it looks :D

on a somewhat related topic .. it doesn't actually work yet LOL

wires are covered by a thin strip of stainless, ok for people with wizards hats but this bit would need to be more user friendly if i were to make any more, a 100% copy of the oem Kokusan wire routing would do it , just be a little more bulky.

Zaga no problem the engraving is easy and fast, even if you sent me a picture of your dog the software can try to engrave it.

we will see Ghost, Tibetan mushroom juice is hard to beat :D

Hey Bushie,
Now i am totally lost in this wizards paradise!!!!!:D

Grtz Rens

p.s.Will the wizards hat be big enough to fit DR_C enormous and genuis head??;)

is smoking the mushrooms quick enough ?

now i forgot where i put the kick start lever

:hathat30: :hathat30:

work is extremely busy again so ive not had time to even see if it works ghost :D

if i make another one you get first pick OK?

No worries Bushie I just wanted to bump the thread a bit. ;) :hathat7:
And no smoking isn't quick enough. :alien:

Thanks mate, I'd be very happy if you make more of those awesome looking covers.
Time will tell whether or not you will find the time and energy to pop out some more awesomeness from the Bushmechanic factory. :hello2:

so found out that the embroidered 6061 tea cosy works pretty good at making the bike run :D

also found some explanation of how the advance and pulse coil works

for base advance rpm the spark is triggered by the strip leaving the pulse coil and the max advance is set by the leading edge of the strip approaching the coil.

this means you can control the 2 by altering the strip

750%20fw1.jpg

BikeBoy.org - Ducati 2V Carb Model Ignition – Reducing advance, Ignitech TCIP4 and stuff

Zaga will find this interesting ..... i found also some odd things going on with the coil orientations, if you flip the main stator there is no spark unless you also reverse the "polarity" of the pulse coil but then the timing is too far advanced to start.

this is so there is no spark if the engine rotates backwards, so mounting the main stator flipped cancels the spark but reversing the pulse coil wires then makes the ign think its rotating OK but the timing is wrong

so the main stator must be the right way up to get a spark and keep the timing right but the pulse coil has its own stationary magnet inside and the ign doesn't care if it is mounted upside down or not.

maybe some of that makes sense :D
