Seat issue

I just bought a 06 550 and the seat doesn't fit so good. Does any one know a easy fix ?
I think I can either set the tank screw in the tank deeper or melt a place for the tank screw to sit in deeper.
What do you think ?

When I sit way forward on the seat the very front of the seat gaps open and grabs the croutch of my pants and the front of my seat is way loose. It's a black seat if that makes a differene. When I baught it about a month ago it was missing the outer clutch cover gasket too and no spare parts manual came with it.

Sounds like the seat base is broken (the seat foundation). If it is , you will need a new one.
There is a "gutz racing" tall seat for sale in the classifieds.

The seat is a low cut one, it just sits on top of the tank screw seat fastener. I like the seat because it fits me perfectly its just that gap. I think I should try to fix it myself. I ride daily in central Idaho. I all ready have over 500 miles on it.

I just did a practise on an old KTM tank I had. I think it will work.

I just shaved the niple down that the seat fastener screw goes into about 2-3 mm. 90% better.
