Okay I have looked but can't find the thread that was being discussed recently about the best sealant for the rocker cover can anyone point me there?

also, does anyone know if there is a "rebuild" kit for the dellorto seals and gaskets and such.

Risky,

I have been using MotoSeal, made by Permatex.

Motoseal

I think it is good to seal a crack that is up to around 1/16" or more. Works great for case halves (used on mine) and rockers (also used on mine), and I have yet to see any leak anywhere on my bike (knock on wood!!!)

Risky:

You can buy a Dellorto gasket kit from Husaberg. Part # 250 076-01

Also the "Float Needle Jet" 3 piece assembly (wear item) is part numbered 250 034-01 for a 300 and 250 098-01 for a 350

Thanks guys,

Duh the name of the thread was "oil leak" what was i thinking

I have been using that every time brendan. The rocker cover leaks in the same spot everytime. left side front...very frustrating

exactly the same place for me risky! it did it there with my other cylinder head and now i've swopped-it's doing it again!

i have used a pane of glass, some P600, soap, bulldog clips to try and clean it up and it did work on the old head and rocker cover...

berger i have some 'kawazaki three-bond' i trust that this is the same stuff?

regards

Taffy

I always use loctite ultra grey, i forget the number. Never had a problem, be carful little bits of previously dried product doesn't find its way into the joint - that'll do it every time! Jared

The Automotive stuff closest to MC sealers like Yamabond that I have found is called The Right Stuff. Have never had a rocker leak using this stuff, but it is a bit pricey. Don't forget to clean the head and valve cover sealing surface with brake clean, simply wiping them with a rag will leave oil so the sealer can't bond, and it will leak.

I am using the 'kawazaki three-bond' with is probably the same as yamabond and a lot of different names. It is a silicone based and have the same properties as silicone except it doe not glue the parts together as silicone and it dry slower so the tube can be used longer. Bad thing is price

DO NOT use anaerobic cure gasket sealants such as Loctite 515 on the rocker cover. Reasons discussed in other threads.

I've had good luck with the regular automotive "RTV" products on my motorcycles that had a poor fit at gasket surface. Put the part on right away while RTV is wet.
