My friend recently had an article published in Volks World magazine this month about his Schwimwagen. I have a .pdf of the 6 page spread, drop me an email to [email protected] if you want to see it I'll mail it over, it is pretty cool. I didn't want to just dump the file in your mail it is biggish, let me know if you want it.

Thanks for the cool site.

awesome!

Hi sir,

That's incredibly awesome of you! My VolksWorld subscrip expired years ago, and it's a little cost prohibitive to renew it. VW Trends over here in the states actually reprints some of VolksWorld's and Flat 4's(RIP) articles, so we still get to see some of the cool articles, but not all.

In the states, they're still beating the dead horse of Cal-Look, so I liked your mags better anyway for the German look porsche conversions.

I'll send the email, and it makes me happy that you like the site.

thanks,

Did my email arrive OK? Just checkin' sometimes my mail server is a bit, shall we say unstable.

cool ride, indeed...

sir, I got the mail, thanks so much. For reasons I no longer care to explore, my dial up ISP has blocked all outgoing mail, flagging it as spam, so I haven't sent anyone an email in some time. Otherwise I would have replied to thank you. Thank you!

To the honorable Mr. Norrander: the 166 us one of the coolest rides you'll ever see. They're a little tough to come by(current registries show it around the 150- mark, although 15,000 were produced). I've had the awesome pleasure to work with a couple, and that alone was enough to make me love them. If you happen to find one, I'll go in halfsies with you :D

thanks,

Wow, great vehicles at vw166.com
This thread reminds me of a former classmate and buddy.
When I last met him about 10 years ago he owned one of
these raritys 8O
He lived just around the corner that time but I haven't met
him since then.
It seems there's something I have to check out...

I've always known about Schwimwagens, but not until today did I know I wanted one :)

There are a couple of Kübels in Norway, but they're not the same....

Now that I've seen pics, I couldn't agree more!

I'll start watching the local classifieds. Would you like it to have a machine gun mount? :D
