Save the poor berg

Hi everyone new Husaberg owner here. Picked up a 2010 fix 450 this year. Great bike was riding a 1990 rm 250 before. Huge step up rode the berg everywhere it’s street legal. Raced my first ever race with it to not bad for a 48 yr old. Lol was really enjoying the bike thought it was going to be my last bike. I tend to keep them for a while. Was out enjoying a ride with the boys and was flat out in 6th when the motor went bang and blew a smoke cloud out so bad couldn’t see the trail behind us. When I got home and assessed the damage it’s real ugly. Dropped a valve into the piston and destroyed head and piston, cylinder has deep gouges and crank has marks on rods from debris. Won’t feel comfortable without getting rebuilt. So I looked into rebuilding it and it’s so expensive I’m ready to give up and go buy another bike. Was hoping I could get some advice on how to do this cheaper. There are no labor costs involved I do my own work. Talked to la sleeve was around 900$ for new rod installed on crank. Resleexed cylinder and piston. Keep wondering if I can go with a big bore at this point? Anyhow that part of rebuild I’m ok with. The cylinder head makes me want to cry. Cycle buy wants 636$ for what they call a complete head. It doesn’t come with valves springs or keepers. The intake valves were 173$ a piece. Was telling me exhaust valves were superseded. Couldn’t get price. Assume they are similar to intake. Still need 4 springs keepers and shims. God knows what all that costs. Some stuff might be reusable from old head. I’m guessing close to 3000$ when I get new gaskets and bearings and all the little stuff. At that point I’m spending what the bikes worth to fix it. Where can I save money here? I assume
valves are titanium and I could run steel? Was wonder about getting new head from eBay? None listed but I believe there are ktm heads that are the same? Really like this bike and want to keep it going if possible. Any advice on where I can save money or who to send crank and cylinder out to. I’d post pictures of the carnage but I don’t know how to.

Pretty much all parts are KTM, the dealer may be correct in stating that they are superseeded, but mostly that just means the husberg pipe is closed.
Look the part number up and Google KTM + husaberg part#
I have a KTM EXC 450 2014 and its 90% the same parts on that as on the berg. Head will fit, you just need to drill the hole for the oil return.

You are lucky to a point its the 450.

390,450,570 and KTM heads are the same. If using a KTM head the external port needs to be drilled and tapped so this reduces costs considerably.

Research the 450EXC barrel for the same.

Research the 450EXC rod and run the Wossner EXC piston kit.

450EXC top end gasket set suits.

My FX450 runs the 450EXC Wossner piston kit.

Yes you can get an aftermarket kit which takes it out to approx 500cc. The Thumperracing kits are heavy and also run a heavy wrist pin.

I love the TR 520 kit on my 2015 450XCF, tons of grunt, but I don't know how long it'll last.

Much vibration?

I have the 610 kit on my 570. The piston and pin was ridiculously overweight. I removed a ton of weight off the CP piston and used a much lighter Wossner wrist pin.

there's some but I never rode the bike stock so I don't know how it compares.
