This is my son's bike, he is 17. we are working on it to get it running he bought it, no history, been sitting. Tank had a hole in it and carburetor was completely corroded. Water in cylinder and stator. Obviously sitting out it rain and weather. We cleaned and rebuilt the FCR carburetor, changed the oil twice, it starts and runs but is very hard to start. Need to figure out some butchered wiring issues still.

No kickstand should make it an FC and the "47" in the engine code should mean it's a 470cc. Probably an '01 model year. Looks like it has an electric starter which would not have come, stock, on the FC. Maybe it was added later.

It can be a great bike. I recently picked up an '02 FE400 basket case. Here's what it looked like when I got it.

That back fender is NOT white. It's severely faded from sun, wind, rain! Here's what it looks like now.

yes, it will be a 470 but they did both the Motocross FC and a crosscountry FX. they have their own wiring diagrams in the 2001-2002 PARTS books.

the 470 is known as the 'ratfuck' engine. the carburation is completely wrong on it.

go have a look on my Facebook page at some videos about starting Husabergs and also buy my easystart kit and choke mounted on the bars. well worth the money.
