Sales descriptions that make me giggle

Ok, I'll start by stating the comments below are not meant to offend or cast any particular aspersions or even opinions on actual bikes for sale or the descriptions therein. That said, a couple of things crack me up every time, to wit:

Mechanic owned = Damn, I'm tired of working on bikes, that chain is just going to have to wait . . . . for like, oh a year or until all of the chinese fingers left on my sprocket have broken off. Really, it's Sunday, I'm not going to spend it working on any bike, especially my own.

Adult ridden = Adult accessing inner 9 year old Travis Pastrana on ritalin! Quick, I need to sell this thing, where the hell is my Honda Polish?!!
Really, what mature adult owns a murdercycle?

Indeed, I am speaking for myself.

bike that looks very clean "always washed .. very tidy example"

then i think ... rusty bearings, dirt in shock .... I almost never wash my bike .. nothing is rusty

working on kid racer bikes you see a lot of over enthusiastic washing, dirt ingress into suspension components and rust.

[WAAAY OFF TOPIC] Funny, I was cleaning my bike yesterday trying to track down an oil leak and this thought truly occurred to me: "I bet Bushy never washes his bike! I feel like a noob". Your post was truly ironic in light of that moment. (Did find the "leak", it was coming out through the exhaust pipe connect to the motor - looks like I've got a valve seal that is partially torn - or worse: piston ring issues).

For a minute there I thought I was getting lazy,
but reading that Bushie, I do the same, I see all the small wire connectors, seals, bushes etc. The more water on them, the more corrosion and rust.

I hardly wash my bike either, much to some peoples opinion. I ride around just about every mud hole and puddle I can , just to keep the mud and water off the bike for that reason. You get more life out of the brakes, chain, sprockets, seals, I would think.

Just rode my rear alloy sprocket till it also had lost 50% of its teeth , thinking I will just get one more ride out of it, ha ha.

:D i did that once and the chain broke next ride, i ride 2-3 times a week about 2 1/2 hrs each ride, there is literally no time for washing my bike, change oil and clean airfilter is as far as it goes.

I wish I could get away with not washing my bike, but the enduro where I live is just too muddy and ******. Winter is good though as all you need to do is to let the snow melt away in the garage, and that normally takes care of most of the mud that might be there.

Yeah I find reading classifieds pretty funny at times also! Not just bikes, but most things. Really makes you think what the sellers are on about! Things like, Lady owned, hardly used, genuine reason for sale, etc! I read an ad for an old Jeep last week that had been restored, it said " new paint included". Ha ha ha!

Personally, I don't care what reason anybody has for selling anything! If somebody is selling something that I want, for a reasonable price, what else do I need to know?

Makes for fun reading though!
