Safety Recall Notice on 2011 Husaberg 390/450

Hi Group,

There is a safety recall notice on the support.ktm-parts.com for 2011 Husaberg FE 390, FE450, and FX450, dated May 18/11 concerning the handlebar clamps.

Bottom line: " It is mandatory that you discontinue riding your motorcycle until the defect has been repaired."

Same goes for the 2011 FE 570S and FS 570. Just got mine in the mail. I just hope the dealer will just send me the part so I don't have to drive 6 hours round trip for clamps!
 
There the same triple clamps on some of the ktm's so i would think it applies to them too????

The recall says bar clamps not the triple clamps. Anyone have an ETA on the replacement parts?

The complete recall list is at least the following:

2011 KTM 450/530 EXC and 690 Enduro-R
2011 KTM off-road 150 though 530
2011 Husaberg 390, FE/FX 450, FE 570S, and FS 570

Don't know about the 2011 Husaberg TE models.

My dealer (Fator's in Redding CA) says they will have them on Wednesday and will ship to me same day. I should have mine by Thurs or Friday...Now...will I ride in the mean time or not??? Hmmmm :?
 
Check your current clamps. If they have a dot stamped in them they are the replacement clamps and don't need to be replaced. I check and mind have the dot. My FE570S manufacture date is 07/2010.
 
Revised Husaberg Recall from NHTSA website

Hello Group,

A different recall notice for the Husaberg / KTM bikes appeared today on the NHTSA web site. The Husaberg 390 / 450 do not appear in this recall notice.

Just got my replacements yesterday in the mail. it's just the top part of the clamps, not the bottom part that bolts to the triple...yes, the new ones are stamped with a little dot to indicate they are the goods. Quick swap and back on my way...going for a late season rain ride today to check out my new waterproof gear and see if I'm ready for a middle of nowhere mission yet...braaaaap!
