Hi guys and hopefully girls (if you can help me) heheh

I have a similar problem...
My '07 fe 550 runs perfectly.... for about 30 km and then its as if it fluds.
It doesn't start for about 10 or so minutes and then goes like a boeing again.
Diagnostics that i have done was...
-check fuel supply
-filters in the tank
-needle and seat (nice and clean)
-float level
-checked the spark plug for spark when it cut out
-air supply is sufficient
-overflow pipes on the carb is open and has no blockages
-the valve on my petrol cap is open

could the needle get stuck now and then?

Please please help me to get my old Burg back

try a new plug? set the tappets, don't think the tappets are the problem but do check them. you may be having an electrical breakdown somewhere?

and get rid of the one way valve on your fuel tank cap vent. go back to a long tube in the triple clamp hole.

Just be aware that if the steering stem has a hole in it for a steering lock then by putting the vent pipe down the stem the fumes from the tank dont help prolong steering head bearings life. The fumes have been known to soften grease and harden the rubber seals. No problem if you dont have a slot/hole in stem for lock. (my 04 650 has a hole for the lock)
