Hey all
I have to say this is a great site we got here........ I am having some problem with my berg (05 450), it is running idle to fast (by turning the adjusting screw) and the difference between idle and chokes is too much... Is there anybody out there who now can be wrong...?

I am 39 years old and got my berg in May and it has 65 hours and 3000 km.

iceberger

turn down your idle pleaee. it should just chug and not rev madly when warm. you must set the bike for when warm first.

get this right and the choke will be ok.

i run an #80 choke jet. please check what you have by looking at either the book or what you have in the carb.

Taffy

Thanks Taffy..........

When idle it’s only running if I turn the adjusting screw up...... I’m storing my friend’s berg, and his bike is running much slower and when choke is on it’s only running like 10% faster but mine is running like 100% faster.

Please help me! I was hoping to be able to ride Sunday, it has been windy lately but the weathercast says go on Sunday...........

you have something wrong with your bike!

it's 99% your carb i think? you need to pull it off and check that the slide is in the correct way around. the plate should be on the back face of the carb ok? nearest the cylinder head AND the 'tunnel' must be at the bottom. many people make this mistake - it's not a problem!

check this has not broken in half as all the very early carbs broke this plate. all '98 carbs had to have this modified....

if you have touched the engine you should say so. have you lifted the slide and raised the idle becasue one day you worked on the engine?

i'll come back on UHE later if you can answer this soon....

Problem sovoled......

I spent the day tearing the crab. And didn’t really find any thing wrong, a little dirt maybe. But when I was putting things too gether I notice a large hole in the hose which goes from it… so I’m riding to morrow after all……..
