Rowrah (Cumbria), Husaberg Supermoto track day?

Guys, have spoken with the Rowrah team this morning, and to my surprise, the hire of the track for the day is £150 + £35 per rider!

I was looking at sports bike track days, and they are approx £150 per day just for use of the track, then hire of bike approx £200 etc etc... expensive!

I thought if a few of us went we could split the track hire charge & this would end up a reasonable cost.

What’s the interest on here for a Husaberg owners SM meet @ Rowrah?

On the SM forum, a chap called Karl organises their days, but its done differently, as its run through the club as an offical day. If we did it separately, it would require our own indemnity sign off, and no marshals/ambulance crews would be there.

I was wondering if folks would be up for this or not?

So if only 3 people went it would be 85 quid?

Even with a group of 10 it would be 50 dabs. Guess 50 quid isnt too bad, but its a lot of hassle gettin 10 people on board, who can all turn up when they say, and get all the money together in one go etc.

Not tryin to be negative or anythin dude, just playin devils advoca.

Also, would that track not be too big for sms? Im good at this devil thingy aint i  :D

rowrah is just about the best sm track in the country !!! or try kinsham chas davis place mid week £50 all day only thing theres no dirt at rowrah or kinsham !! do you race or just do track days ??

Whoopsie daisy  The mention of superbike track days brought up images of long and wide tracks.

Thanks MK 4 for Kinshim, another track I was not aware of....

Kinshim is 2 hours away from Liverpool as opposed to 3 to Rowrah, and £50 for the day at Kinshim!

I wonder how many more there are... :?: Does anyone know of any more within a 2 hour radius of Liverpool (apart from 3 sisters & Trax)?

Only problem is SM's are only Wednesday daytime, so I would need to use annual leave to go... not sure how the Mrs would take that news, but its an option all the same.

On the Rowrah question, reply back on this thread if anyone interested, if enough numbers to make it viable, it would make a good Saturday or Sunday one time for us guys to meet up.

There's a few weekends free in October still.

Cheers

Been scouring the internet looking for ya, but cant seem to find anythin.

I did find a user on a few forums, sites etc with the same name as you..........

(Unused car parks indeed   :D )

LOL :D Thanks mate, been looking too, been using "Karting-Nation", using my location & then it lists the tracks in distance order, then sifting through to find "outdoor" then gonna call those that do tomorrow to see if they do anything with SM's, will let folks know.

Would like to produce a map of UK with locations/distances/prices/days available etc to aid track days selection.

Cheers

the problem with rowrah is its a 800mile trip for me !!! so if i was going rowrah it would be for flid fest which is 2days and a big piss up on the sat eve and about 40 sm riders all for £90 !! have a look at cadwell that good on a sm or swatham bit tight but good dirt section . you could have come to rednal this weekend just gone good dirt a table top 2 ski jumps and a tarmac section as good as rowrah !! that was racing with southernsupermoto £85 per day ! and some top riders like lewis cornish / sam gilbody . or come down and do lydd with ssm uk i think its the 1st w/end oct ??

Thanks MK 4, just picked up Rednal, is only 1 hour from me & was 2nd on my list to phone in the morning :D

I wish I'd of known there was a load of frigging SM riding going on there Sat/Sun just gone :pale:

I've seen the Flid Fest post on the SM forum & was considering going, but as you've said, its a long old hike, so although I would go that far now & again, I was wondering if anything nearer to home on a more regular basis (i.e. Trax (1 hrs drive), used to be open every Sunday, this would have been absolutely perfect for me).

On that note Lydd is a 10hr round trip.... :compress: so might not make that one.

Cheers for the info/circuits, I hope to build a comprehensive list of tracks for reference & will share when complete.

i think we will be going kinsham to get some track time just before we race at lydd , it will be a wednesday but its worth going always turns out to be a good laugh !! there was only 7 ov us last time we went !! ill let you know the date

The more phone calls I make, the more I feel like some sort of scabby nuisance as a SM rider asking if they accept bikes on these Kart tracks....

Not much succcess so far put it that way.... :(

Kinsham SM track day meet?

I see there's no interest for Rowrah. I've phoned loads of Karting tracks & little joy.

Kinsham, however, is an hr closer for me in any case & runs a regular Wednesday SM trackday, £50 all day.

I'm thinking of going here one Wednesday, anyone up for a Wednesday next month?

If so give me a shout.

Crispin

yea i think we may be up for the 5th and maybe the 12th !! why dont you come an do some of the southernsupermoto rounds next year ??

Yea, I really want to get into the SM racing scene, even if I'm no good I would love the thrill of the competition.

I've only done 3 track days on a SM, all at Trax.

I was thinking of working towards an ACU license in advance of next years season. I see you must complete an ACU competitor training course (£50) in Rugby, before you can apply for a licence.

I think then you apply for a "clubman A" license first. Is this license then sufficient to enter Norasport & SouthernSupermoto races?

Thanks

Crispin

join southernsupermoto there send paper work for your amca license . theres only 1 round left if you wanted to do it you could on a day license . its £85 for the day + i think £ 20 for your day license and transponder . ill be there if you need any help with anything ! just let us know !

Thanks mate, I think I'll miss the last round of this year & get myself set up for next year.

Thanks for the information too, I looked up the web site.

Looking at the race venues, I think I might be more inclined to do the Norasport series if I'm honest, only as its predominantly based further North (so much less travel overall).

Thanks anyway

Hi, I see 5th/12th is October right? I will need to check in work 1st, but hopefully not a problem.

I'll let you know if I've booked a day off & the date. Looking forward to getting some "quality time" with my Berg before the snow & ice.... Just SORN'd the sports bike
