well, my butt is begging me to stray from the 04 550 if not just for the occasional ride. the 501 fired first kick and ran damn well. felt very light compared to my 04 550 and seemed much more manuverable. feels as if it may be easier to handle in the tight woods..

I have a few trusted opinons on the 2000 501's I would like to open the question up for everyone to comment, those of you who run the 501's would you change if you could? pro's con's etc. input needed...

I am on the hunt for a spare bike, was not planning on a Husaberg, but this one caught my eye.

if anyone else is interested in a very clean 501 that runs well, you may want to take a look at cycle trader. This guy happens to live about 2 miles from me. unless I buy it first

Thanks

Jared

everyone loves the 501! :D :D This is why I have been clamoring for a kickstart only 496 (there have been the 475, 496, 499, 501, and 505cc modles used by Hbg)! Do you suppose it is any coincidence that that is what the factory team rides?

I have a 2000 FE 501 I bought from Buzzard (member here) Having ridden big bore two strokes since 1978 I thought I would never be happy with a four stroke, but the Buzzmeister made me a deal I couldn't refuse and I have never been happier on a bike. Whether it is in tight woods or wide open fire roads the thing just works! Mind you I only laugh a little    while wicking it up and passing 06 CRFX's and 650 XR's any time any place I want. The 00 501 as has been told to me is considered to be one of the best motors Husa has produced :D :D :D

Risky,
I owned a 2000 FE501E which I sold to my brother to by a 2005 FE550E.
Before the 501 I owned a '96 FE600E. The 2000 model is the first of the new shape frame but had the old designed engine. The 2000 was bulletproof as the engine had all of the bugs removed (barring the SEM coil - but I was lucky there too). The 96 was unreliable due to being the first model with electric start. I would never have contemplated selling it to my brother if I thought it was a bucket of *****. I sold it once Berg's came out with new carby's, starter motors & ignition systems.
At their current 2nd hand value, you cant get more bang for ya buck.

cheers

Mark
