Rod Bushing on a 600

Does anybody know how thick the top end rod bushing is supposed to be on a 95 and later 600? I just took mine apart and there was no bushing but i am told that there is supposed to be. the piston seemed really loose on the rod and there was some bad wear on the wrist pin so maybe it was left out or just wore out. Is it a thin bushing? and if so, how does the oil get through it to the wrist pin?

Thanks for any help

Early Husaberg engines (through 94 / 95) did not use a small end bushing.
The piston pin had a Titanium Nitride surface and was directly supported by the connecting rod small end. Said early engines also featured composite Bronze clutch friction plates.

The treated pin has that of a yellow / gold tint.

If the small end bore is that of 21mm + / - then someone simply failed to put a bushing in the rod, however, if said bore is smaller than 21mm +/- then you have a very early engine with an original rod.

I was looking to replace the upper and lower bearing/bushing on the connecting rod of my '95 FE350 due to excessive play. I cannot find the replacement bearings only a complete connecting rod kit. Anyone know if or where I can find the bearings separately? thanks!!

The small end bushing is the same as that of a pre 01 400 Husaberg.
Your local dealer should be able to hook you up.

As for the big end bearing:
Unfortunately I will be out of town until mid March.
If you are not in a rush I can supply you with said bearing. It is a special order item from a specialty manufacturer and will run you roughly $50.00.
Should you decide to wait I can supply you with both items. Figure late March as a delivery time.

Dale
