Rocker roller shafts

Hi Everyone, The saga of my FX 470 rebuild on the cheap continues. I noticed some roughness in the rocker roller bearings and upon inspection found flat spots on both of the central shafts of the bearing. No wear was detected on the needles or outer race. New bearing assys were about $70NZ. After a bit of ringing round I located via a local bearing shop a quantity of 8mm x 16mm hardened dowels which fit perfectly. At 60 Rockwell, they are hard enough. Worked out at $5 each. I have about 10 if anyone needs a pair. Cheers, Stu

thanks for that. rather than me buying them from NZ how about you giving the code for the parts?

maybe the name of your shop and an email address etc etc.

regards

Taffy

Hi Guys, the shafts are described as a hardened dowel, sorry no part number. They are 16mm long x 8mm dia, same as original. Came from South Island Bearing Distributors in New Zealand but I believe a phone around your local bearing shops should locate some. I know they are available in Oz
As for the alternate liner Bushmechanic, not only is this the worlds cheapest Husaberg rebuild, it's also the slowest so yet to test out. Too many projects....and now my wife wants a horse float built. When I get it altogether, I will do a full run down on what I did, where I got it from and how much....and of course, did it work!!!

another reason for me not to like horsepower in single figures :D

your run down on the engine will be greatly appreciated, best of luck with it
