one of my rocker end caps appears to be leaking oil. from the drawing i'm guessing the o-ring is the culprit...maybe it's cut. can these end caps be removed without removing the rocker assembly?

Hi Doug,
Yes!
Simply remove the 6 mm (5 mm hex) bolt and extract the plug.

Hope this helps.

Dale

Dale,

not having any luck with the extraction. i removed the 5mm hex that goes thru the cap. i'm not sure what the 4mm hex that threads into the cap is for. i grab the 4mm hex and tried to pull the cap out...doesn't seem right though.

thanks

Hi Doug,
Sometimes they can be quite stubborn. :)

Reinstall the 6 mm through bolt, remove the 4 mm hex bolt and install a suitable handle of sorts to aid in grip for extraction. Now remove the through bolt and use axial force as required to extract the cap.

I personally use a small slide hammer on the more stubborn units.

Kind Regards,
Dale

thanks very much...i was thinking a slide hammer would be the ticket
