i found a follower on my bike in spec after i'd pulled the pin and looked at it for wear. but i found the tiny needle rollers inside have been thrown against the outside: the rocker arm wall and grinding in deep. they make a kind of spiral trough which gets deeper and deeper until its deep and then come out - sharply! it's like a launch ramp.
i'm sure it must be tilting the needle rollers around hard sideways. so as lineaweaver suggested; i filled the inside faces of each rocker but kept the bearings.
sidewalls bringing on failure?
