As I was putting my 99 fe 400 together last summer i noticed chain grooves on the inside of the rocker arm cover. i don't know for sure, but am assuming the engine was tore apart due to a major timing chain failure, although doesn't explain splitting the case. new timing chain and gears and tensioner were installed and bearings checked. This morning i found a rocker arm cover on ebay for a 94 berg model unknown, i mailed the seller asking what model cover was removed from. No reply yet. checking the numbers stamped on the top of the cover in the picture (which is 200013) the part number in the manuel for my 99 is 200 013-02 looking in the parts manuel for a 94, the number is 200 013-01. does anyone know the difference between the 2? what significant difference is there with the part numbers matching except for the last 2 digits? I am assuming the cover will not fit my 99 unless someone in the know can tell me different. After seeing lefrog's pics it put alittle more urgency on getting a spare since the cover is already grooved. Any help on this would be appreciated.
