Looks like a really great place to ride... are you using a Rekluse or other autoclutch?

Great vid, not saying that you aren't a fast rider but your buddy really checked out on you there till he crashed on the hill. Man I'd love to come over to the island and check out trails.

No not running a auto clutch of any type. After running one for the last 5 years I have decided that I am faster without it. It makes me lazy.

Ya the guy I am riding is a fast rider, what is always surpising is how close together we actually are though, we never got much more the 100 150 yards apart in that whole video.

What the video also does not show is the fact that we are riding across a huge side hill. The slope to the riders right is anywhere from 30 to 60 feet down for most of that trail.

The most impressive thing about the guy in front of me is that he had basically no suspension and many of those g-outs are 20 + ft Deep.

South Island..S. Lake, Sooke, Tanskey is where I ride mostly

That's the whoops trail on the side of kpoor hill if I'm not mistaken. One of my favorite trails. I find with video cams they don't show the elevation changes so well. As you say that trail is littered with 20ft holes but it doesn't show so well on the vid. Nice work on that gnarly hill at the end!

JBrown, you should come over for the DSBC Orca Run on May 8th. You get to ride this trail and many others.....

Yeah, vids or photos, when you are taking a shot up or down an incline, the steepness is hard to see. That is why we often see 'it is steeper than it looks' in such threads.

To get a real feel for such things, you have to shoot it from the side, and until we get hovercams or something like that, we'll have to be satisfied with helmet cams.

Great vid Looki.

loz16h, I actually am coming over for the DSBC Ocra ride. I can't wait to ride there if these are going to be the trails we'll be on!! I just hope that 70degreeracing has their subframe tank ready by then. If not I'll have one of the Safari tanks.

Looki- I think your running a Hero HD right? What are you running for SD memory? I need something that will record at least 1.5 hours of HD video but preferably 2.5 would be much beter. Maybe not possible.
Going to put one on the outboard wing and one on the tail ski and we're going to make some real "Ice Pilot" videos.

Hey Mad Trapper

The camera is actually a Vholder HD 1080P. It records on sd memory and you get about 3 hours shooting at 720 @ 60FPS with a 8gig card. Battery life is about 2-3 hours dependant on temp. The battery is a lithium ion rechargeable and I have a spare but have not needed it much.

A friend has a Hero camera and rarly uses it due to rapid consumption of the AA batteries. His is also the wide angle version which he says makes every thing look like your watching through a fish bowl.
That said, I don’t believe his is a HD version.

Hope that helps

Yes it helps it might be too late to cancel my Hero but I won't get a second one...I better look for the one you got.

Hey Lads,
Looki, great footage, looks like a sweet riding spot, as a point of interest I'm in the midst of uploading some footage from 2 gopro cams...mine is the Berg footage and my buddy's is the Kato, you'll know it by the colour

The Kato uses the gopro wide helmet cam and I've got the new Go Por HD Helmet cam and love what it offers but each to his own on this footage I had it set for a too wode shot but I'll square that up for next time out...I've got one other being uploaded as I type this but here's 2 of the last 3 vids
