Reports online have Nathan Woods passing away today from a crash at the Taft WORCs event. Both Offroad Junkies and Vital MX have the story. No further details yet. Rest in peace.

:( Holy crap nooooo! I just watched a vid done by him on riding technique and it was inspiring. I hang my Husaberg loving head for a moment of silence.

RIP Nathan
he was truley one of the greats and a just a realy nice guy this is a sad day in off road

It truely is a sad day, the part that breaks my heart is the fact that he was a husband and a father to two young boys. He was the same age as me and I have a two year son and a baby **** on the way and it breaks my heart to know they won't get to grow up knowing their father.

My partner John sent me a text about the news and it honestly took my breath away...........

I had the very fortunate opportunity to hang out with a Nathan and the ISDE benefit ride up by Paso Robles last year on Sunday. Nathan was a real regular guy, very un assuming, like hanging out with one of your long time riding buddies I also had the honor of having Nathan ride my bike and give me feed back on how the suspension felt. We had a great time talking about bike handling and suspension set up. And, it was really cool to see what my bike was capable of!

God speed Nathan, you will be missed.

From Cycle News:

Cycle News has learned that two-time WORCS Champion and ISDE Gold Medalist Nathan Woods lost his life today while practicing for this weekend's opening round of the 2011 WORCS Series in Taft, California.

Woods, from Paso Robles, California, reportedly was kicked off his bike over a tabletop jump and was airlifted to the hospital, where it was confirmed that he had passed away. Initially, we had heard that Woods died of head injuries, but we are hearing reports that he suffered internal injuries.

Woods was 32 years old and has a wife, Amanda, and two sons, Nate and Braxton.

Our prayers go out to the Woods family.

Terrible news. At least he enjoyed incredible experiences in his too short life. My prayers are with his family...
